I have had such a busy week this week! And I'm so glad it's Friday.
This week my daughter had her first day at daycare. I was so glad I had booked myself so that I would be occupied and not constantly thinking about her and how she was doing. The wonderful lady kept me updated throughout the day with texts and pictures. Miss Kay had a great day. She was a happy girl and was too excited to nap. So she had fallen asleep just as I was picking her up. Oh well! I was so glad she had a good day without mommy!
While she was at daycare, I had my own plans. I went to my local library for my Wednesday morning knitting group. And after that I headed to my hairdresser for a cut and colour. I love how it turned out!
But let's talk about this knitting group. Although I seem to be the youngest member there I feel welcome. The library is not open to visitors just yet, and we get served tea and coffee while we sit in some nice comfy lounge chairs. We talk about anything. We bring our works in progress, ask for opinions, or for help. We bring our finished projects to show off. This is a place of acceptance. Where people speak your language (knitting language) and truly appreciate the craft. This group is for me! I love it.
Any way. Now that my chaotic week is basically over, I have finally decided what I will make next. Yes, my Futurama blanket is still on the go. But I like having a few on the go as I get bored working on one large project. A year or so ago a good friend had a pattern that she just couldn't figure out so she came to me. Well this pattern stumped me as well. So the project sat in a time out. For longer than I care to admit. But now that I have access to my knitting group I have the confidence to start it up again and finish it this time! I will be giving it to my friend once it's done and I can't wait. This pattern will not get the best of me, I will complete it! hahaha
The pattern is called Drifted Pearls. It's just gorgeous. The pattern designer is Jennifer Lang. https://www.etsy.com/listing/61887890/drifted-pearls-scarf-knitting-pattern?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=drifted%20pearls&ref=sr_gallery_1
